The Mountain Lake Vegetation Management Council (MLVMC) announces the fourth annual Scholarship Program. Under the Program, two (2) $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to undergraduate students attending a college or university in the Mid-Atlantic region majoring in Forestry, Horticulture, Environmental Studies or related field. The Mid-Atlantic region consists of the following states: Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia and Tennessee.
Program Guidelines & Priorities:
Seeking undergraduate students with a record of volunteerism in the community in non-school sponsored activities and participation in extracurricular school activities.
- Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and currently enrolled in a 2- or 4-year college or technical school.
- Scholarship funds will be paid in June 2026 or July 2026 for the second semester of the student’s first year directly to the college and not to the student.
- MLVMC strongly suggests that each school present this opportunity to any applicants that match this program’s guidelines.Applications should be emailed to (mtnlakevmc@gmail.com) by May 31, 2026, by 5:00 p.m.
- Late applications will not be accepted.
Email one copy of a completed typed application package to: mtnlakevmc@gmail.com(This includes application, essay, resume, and copy of school transcript) The applications will be reviewed, and recipients selected by the Mountain Lake Vegetation Management Council members. The scholarships will be awarded in July/August 2026.
